Instructions on how to switch from the old package to the new community package

I hope this question isn't too stupid but there are no instructions how one switches from the old package to the new one under the community umbrella (we have the old package in Production right now so I don't want to rock the boat too much).

I personally have no experience on doing this (my Git skills are very limited other than clicking buttons in SourceTree) so if I overlook something obvious maybe someone can point me to an article that explains it or give instructions.

I think we should add a new section to the READ.ME on how to switch over and I'd be happy to help on the documentation itself (again, never done that but there's always a first time for something).
