Best way to add top padding to the tab bar?

First of all, this is fantastic work and Mozilla should fire their UI team and hire you. I'm wondering what the best way to add padding between the window border and the top of the tabs is, so that the tabs don't hug the window border and the darker background is visible above them (like in the screenshots in the readme and also the default look of chrome).

If anyone could tell me the most "correct" way to do this that would be sweet, the snippets i tried did not work.
