Sprint 1 Retrospective

What Each Team Member Did

AI TEAM:

• Andrew (SCRIBE AI): Worked on adding gameplay tags, redesigned spawning system, refactored healing/damage code
• Camron (PRODUCT OWNER): Setting up development environment, remembering the player location, added difficulty struct for runners
• Damian: Mostly a lot of research and figuring out what the existing code does and documenting it, and implementing gameplay tags
• Quinn: Implement decision making mockup tree (sample state machine), working on CI/CD (will still need to finish tonight)

GENERAL TEAM:

• Nathan (TEAM LEAD): Spent lot of time setting up stories and breaking them down, added polish to powerups, added SFX, setting up powerup particle effects, powerup system doesn't always work.
• Tavi: Haven't been able to fully commit the time to the tasks set out for himself, spent most of the time reading documentation, still plans to finish up skipping cutscene tonight.
• Cameron (SCRIBE GENERAL): Used widgets to create a runner selection screen but nonfunctional since there's no new runners.
• Annika: modeling the SUB in Maya, but Maya was not able to import into Unreal so had to switch to Sketchup.

Retrospective

In general, the AI team feels that while they do not specifically meet their sprint goal (as we are still understanding the scope of the project and our capabilities), we were still very satisfied and pleased with our overall progress and development and are eager to continue the project. We agreed that we need to be better at self-reviewing our code before submitting PR's (don't break existing code) The general team determined they need to write more well defined user stories and clarifying the scope of stories. Overall, this sprint had a rocky start and most of us didn't space out our work well, but finished pretty strong. We also determined that our two separate team branches (develop and ai-develop) is working well, but that we'll have the product-owner merge the two branches at the start of each new sprint.
