Unable to run script #163
-
Hello, This is my first Synology (DS1823xs+) using 4 Samsung Evo 870 4TB SSDs, and I attempted to run this script on my synology via Putty, logged into my account via SSH. I downloaded the script on my PC, uploaded it to my home folder on the NAS and placed it in a sub-folder and attempted to run the script. Every time I attempt to do this, I receive the following error: What prerequisite am I missing here to run the script, did I do something wrong, or is this script for some reason not compatible with my DS1823xs+? Thanks in advance, appreciate everyone who put this script together! (I think it makes no sense to put any disks on the warning list, Synology really making it annoying to buy their products for this reason!) |

Did you download the zip file, unzip it, then copy the unzipped contents of the zip file to you home folder on the NAS? Did you type the full path to the syno_hdd_db.sh file in the SSH window? Something like: While you see "home" as your home folder the real path is homes with an s and then your user name. |

Right. Based on what I've read in this thread, I believe @Samzebian may not have realized that, in the Linux/Unix world, the basic rule is that the current path is not included when running a program or executing a script file. |
