I would like to suggest several features and improvements for the "Ice and Fire: Dragons" mod that could significantly enhance the gameplay experience, especially with a focus on dragons. Given the mod's clear inspiration from George R.R. Martin's world of "A Song of Ice and Fire," including "Game of Thrones" and "House of the Dragon," I believe the following additions would be highly appreciated by the community:
New Dragon Morphologies:
Introduce different physical forms for dragons without adding new elemental types. These forms can be inspired by the diverse dragon designs seen in HOTD. This would add more visual variety and realism to the dragons.
Some examples would be:
Syrax from House of the Dragon; @siosin_ - Instagram
Caraxes from House of the Dragon; @siosin_ - Instagram
Meleys from House of the Dragon; @siosin_ - Instagram
and so on...
Procedural Flight Animations:
Implement advanced flight mechanics, including procedural animations for flying/gliding, and the ability for dragons to perform complex maneuvers such as barrel rolls and flying upside down. This would make flying more dynamic and engaging.
Enhanced Dragon Combat:
Improve dragon-on-dragon combat to better reflect the epic dance of the dragons. The battle at Rook's Rest and others should serve as an excellent reference for the intensity and style of dragon combat.
Variable Dragon Statistics:
Introduce diverse stats for dragons, such as size, firepower, speed, and strength. These stats should vary between individual dragons and be influenced by their physical characteristics. This would add a layer of strategy and uniqueness to each dragon.
Advanced Breeding Mechanics:
Enhance the breeding system to utilize the new stats and physical characteristics. This could make breeding more strategic, as players attempt to create the most powerful or specialized dragons.
Improved Graphics and Animations:
Update the visual and animation quality of dragons (possibly with procedural animations for walking and other stuff) to ensure they are more lifelike and majestic. This includes but is not limited to the flight animations mentioned earlier.
Partial Remote Control of Dragons:
Allow players to command their dragons to perform certain actions even when not riding them. This feature would add a new dimension to dragon interactions and utility.
These improvements would shift the mod's focus more towards the dragons, aligning with the mod's title and central theme. I believe such enhancements would not only attract more players but also provide a richer and more immersive experience for the existing community.
Thank you for considering these suggestions, and for your hard work on this amazing mod.
