The short answer is 'not at the moment but it could be in future'.
There was already relation extraction work done for BIKG (see the paper) before we made KAZU, which unfortunately is not open source (currently at least, and may prove more difficult to open source than KAZU was for a few reasons).
At the moment, BIKG is the only internal AstraZeneca user depending on relation extraction, so there's not any immediate internal demand to add relation extraction to KAZU.
That said, it does seem like a natural fit to expand KAZU into, so it's something we'd be interested in hearing about external demand/requirements from KAZU users as well. That said, if there's no internal demand, we'd have to work on it in our personal time, so may proceed slowly (although external contributions could of course speed this up!).
Leaving this issue open at least for now, to allow others interested in 'relation extraction in KAZU' to add perspectives/thought - thanks for kicking off the conversation!
I was wondering whether relation extraction (e.g. geneX associated-with diseaseY, or geneX interacts-with geneY, etc) is on your roadmap?
