We are pleased to inform you that we will be publishing a special issue on the "Software Challenges to Exascale Computing" in the Springer Nature Computer Science journal (https://www.springer.com/computer/journal/42979), and would like to invite you to submit manuscripts to this issue.
The manuscripts can be based on any topic related to the area of "Software Challenges to Exascale Computing". Some of the topics of interest are:
Tools and techniques for code modernization
Generative programming techniques in HPC
Supporting software and middleware for HPC environments: e.g., MPI libraries
Tools for profiling, debugging, and parallelizing applications
Tools and techniques for memory and power optimization
Large-scale HPC applications (tuning, optimization, and implementation on HPC resources)
HPC Science Gateways, Containerization (HPC in the Cloud)
Fault-tolerance
Filesystems and Parallel I/O
High-level interfaces, libraries, compilers, and runtime systems for parallel programming
Domain-Specific Languages in HPC
Best practices for HPC software development
Challenges and opportunities related to the workforce development in the area of software engineering for HPC
All the submitted manuscripts will be peer-reviewed for originality, relevance, and potential of impact on the field of software for advanced computing. The manuscripts should be prepared as per the "Instructions for Authors" provided at the following URL: https://www.springer.com/computer/journal/42979
The authors would need to select the title of the issue at the time of submission and the papers will automatically come to us for evaluation.
Timeline for publication:
Submission system opens: February 15, 2019
Submission system closes: June 1, 2019
1st round review deadline: July 15, 2019
Final round review deadline: September 1, 2019
Publication deadline: October 1, 2019
