Is there any way to export a list of all our taxa? #143
-
Question from Dawn Neisser: "Is there any way to export a list of all our taxa? Not the individual voucher records, but all taxa contained within our records base? Ideally sorted by family, but I'll start with the full list if needed?" |

There are a couple of ways to do this. The brute-force method would be to download all your records and then use Excel's "remove duplicates" function on the scientificName field to leave only unique values. The second would be to conduct a search on the public search page (Search Collections) that includes all records from only your institution (this gets a little tricky because you have to enter something in the search parameters, but here's how I attempted it for the JROH collection: https://cch2.org/portal/collections/list.php?db=53&eventdate1=1850-01-01&eventdate2=2022-04-01&includecult=1). Then click the Species List tab in the results: Then you can either copy the data on this page, or download it by clicking the button in the top right corner. |
