Mortality Data & Comparability Ratios #9
Comments
Is this between crude rates? I haven't read the methods but I image it wouldn't be need with DASRs? |
It changes the number of deaths prior to calculation of crude of DASRs, we need to test how much the rates deviate from the ones calculated in Fingertips |

Fingertips use comparability ratios when calculating mortality rates over time - this is to allow for changes in coding practices over time to enable fair comparison between years. Do we need to do this? May need to check how much our mortality rates deviate from the fingertips published figures to make a judgement on whether we apply the comparability ratios.
