The GUI just uses the --hardsubx flag from the ccx binary, does the GUI output any error? what other flags have you passed?

Looks like a ccx bug and not related to the GUI. cc: @cfsmp3

I guess some tesseract data doesn't come with the install and I don't know where the programm is looking for that data.

Normally everything should be included, but the tesseract library might be looking at the wrong place...

What you can try to do is to install tesseract yourself (on their suggested location), by using one of the 4.x installers available here: https://digi.bib.uni-mannheim.de/tesseract/

Unfortunately I am not an expert in this area. I tried what you suggested, even with the 5.x versions before and added it to PATH. Still it did not work. Do you have any other hotfixes?

5.x is not supported (yet) by CCExtractor, so won't work for sure (hence my suggestion for a 4.x install).

If the 4.x version didn't work I don't have immediate suggestions :(

Normally we'll have an update for the HardSubX by the end of this year's GSoC, so we can pay extra attention to test out these things :)

This sounds great! Hopefully this can be fixed easily. Thank you for your help.

I've the same issue on Windows 11 even after I did this.
