No. Any OpenEdge version can be used for your CICD process. Remember: CICD is the process of automating the required steps (compile, test, zip file) to create your application state, and deploy it to the target environment. Recent versions of OpenEdge include tooling to assist with this process (e.g. PCT, Ant, Gradle, ABL Unit). If you are running an older version of OpenEdge (e.g. pre-11.X) you will need to define your build process, and design an automation process (e.g. use Jenkins to execute a shell-script that starts the OpenEdge application compiler). |
