Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
DBT 1.9 release is expected on December 2nd. Additionally, from 1.8 the core and adapter versions don't need to match,
https://docs.getdbt.com/docs/dbt-versions/core#how-we-version-adapter-plugins

Maybe the dbt-core version should be pinned to <2.0
