Pseudo cursor on the top left of the screen #31

Here's the log:

Okay, so I've been using the extension with the 'Mouse Cursor Brightness Control' toggle off. I also realized that it does mention something along the lines of the problem I'm having. While I'd like to know what the root cause of my issue is, turning off the aforementioned option seems to do the trick for now. |
I can see the very same problem in Gnome Shell 3.38.4. It seems like it is a shell problem, not the extension's. If you can find a way to trigger the issue with a sequence of shell actions, please let me know. |
Hi, just wanted to let you know I am having the same issue. Turning 'Mouse Cursor Brightness Control' off helps, that is a great tip! |
Is there any other solution for this? I want the whole screen to be the same brightness so turning off brightness control for the mouse isn't an option for me. -Zorin OS user (if that matters) |
@F-i-f It happens to me when I hold the Super key plus click and holding the mouse on a window. I use this specific shortcut to manipulate windows extensively so it's really really annoying seeing a fake cursor appear in the top left of my screen seemingly at random. This shortcut should come default with gnome to my knowledge. |
Tested this on Fedora 36 and the pseudo cursor appears when I use Xorg instead of wayland this is a troublesome combination when you have an Nvidia card like I do and need to use Xorg for a lot of your apps to function. Nouveau might be fine but I use the proprietary drivers to fully utilize the power of my card. I've never seen this issue appear on Wayland on Fedora 36. Hopefully this can be fixed in the Gnome 43 extension? For now I'm using this script to change brightness plus some modifications from me for keybindings. |
During normal usage, a static mouse cursor will be displayed at the top left of the screen at random. It does not interfere with the usage of the normal cursor, however; it makes it so that there's 2 cursor on screen. I tried to take screenshot, but it disappears when my screen capture is turned on.
I've tried to collect the log as mentioned in the extension site, but I don't think there's anything of value here.
Edit*: I just realized I forgot to turn on debug. Will post the log once the bug surfaces.
