Custom button/key on the keyboard

Hello,

I have two questions:

1. Can I add a custom button/key on the keyboard, for example a small button with my company logo that starts a mini app?
2. Can I have mini app that runs inside the keyboard, I mean either inside the keyboard or above the main keyboard view, but without actually leaving the keyboard - i.e. not starting new app? Hope there is mini app spec somewhere?

Hello V,

1. Yes, you can add a button or a key in the fleksy keyboard. There are two options: adding the button in the top bar or adding next to the emoji button.
2. I think that it would be really helpful for you these examples that we show how to create a mini app from scratch: https://github.com/FleksySDK/VirtualKeyboardSDK/tree/main/examples

I noticed that you also have Flutter SDK, but looking at the docs seems that the Flutter SDK is limited to in-app only keyboard?
Can you please let me know if the Flutter SDK can do as much as the native ones?

Hello V, We are compatible with the integration from Flutter framework. Both SDKs, iOS and Android one are the same as the integration on Swift or Kotlin. It has the same functionalities. The In-app keyboard is part of the same SDK (VirtualKeyboardSDK), so it is compatible with Flutter too. What do you plan to do? We can help point you in the right direction. Thanks, Xevi

Please note I do not need in-app keyboard, I do need system keyboard replacement.
I hope this is possible with VirtualKeyboardSDK?

Is this doable with the flutter SDK or not?
Are there any limits for the Flutter SDK?

Thanks. I managed to build something on Android.
But looing at the flutter SDK seems I cannot do much in flutter - actually everything is done in the android side?
I.e. I have to develop the keyboard (extend KeyboardService) in the native, I cannot customize the keyboard from Flutter nor I can make mini apps in flutter?

Thanks. Now I am trying to make a mini app - an app that runs in the keyboard, but I have two problems:

1. I see no documents describing how I can add an extra button, and how to supply button text and/or image
2. no details how to implement the mini app - how to handle the remote view etc

Sorry may be I was not clear:
What I am trying to do is:

1. Add a custom button/icon on the keyboard, for example next to the space bar, I need custom image for the button and handling
2. Once the button is clicked I would like to make a small app (panel) that runs in the keyboard (the mini app). The link you pointed to is about already made mini app. Unless the source code for these app is available I will need some docs how to create the UI of an app that runs inside the keyboard. I cannot remember details but think these were called input views?

Hello V, We should have a first version by the end of this month. This would work like: 1. Choose the place where you want the button: next to the spacebar left, right. 2. Have an image ready to be used by the custom button. 3. Override the delegate to take action when the user presses that button.
