Hello V,
We are compatible with the integration from Flutter framework. Both SDKs,
iOS and Android one are the same as the integration on Swift or Kotlin. It
has the same functionalities.
The In-app keyboard is part of the same SDK (VirtualKeyboardSDK), so it is
compatible with Flutter too.
What do you plan to do? We can help point you in the right direction.
Thanks,
Xevi

I noticed that you also have Flutter SDK, but looking at the docs seems
that the Flutter SDK is limited to in-app only keyboard?
Can you please let me know if the Flutter SDK can do as much as the native
ones?
Best regards:
V

Hello, Please note I do not need in-app keyboard, I do need system keyboard replacement. Is this doable with the flutter SDK or not? Best regards: |

Hello V,
Yes, the VirtualKeyboardSDK is a virtual keyboard replacement.
You can use these examples
<https://github.com/FleksySDK/VirtualKeyboardSDK/tree/main/keyboardsdk-integrations>
for the integration directly on iOS, Android or Flutter.
We support flutter and there are no limitations.
Best,
Xevi

Hello V,
We support flutter, so the SDK can be integrated in an app developed in
Flutter, but the development of the mini apps should be in native (kotlin
or swift) depending on the platform.
I hope it answers your question.

But looing at the flutter SDK seems I cannot do much in flutter - actually
everything is done in the android side?
I.e. I have to develop the keyboard (extend KeyboardService) in the
native, I cannot customize the keyboard from Flutter nor I can make mini
apps in flutter?

Hi V,
To your questions:
1. For changing the appIcon for your own icon, please, use this:
In the KeyboardService.kt :
override val appIcon: Int?
get() = R.drawable.ic_launcher_foreground // as an example of random logo
2. Here, this guide should point you out in the right direction to create a
custom mini-app:
https://docs.fleksy.com/keyboard-sdk/guides/creating-keyboard-apps/ You can
copy most of the code from the open sourced repo:
https://github.com/FleksySDK/fleksyapps-Android
I have assumed that both questions are related to Android and I've only
mentioned Android, if you need iOS, let me know.
Best,

Hello,
Thanks. Now I am trying to make a mini app - an app that runs in the
keyboard, but I have two problems:
1. I see no documents describing how I can add an extra button, and
how to supply button text and/or image
2. no details how to implement the mini app - how to handle the remote
view etc
Can you please try help with this?

Hi V,
Okay, thanks for the clarification. Now it's much more clear.
1. We have a temporal way of doing it. Let me prepare an example and share
it with you.
2. We have the source code here, so you should be able to copy everything
and use it as you want. The documentation for creating a mini app from
scratch is here: https://docs.fleksy.com/sdk-android/plugins-api-ref/
I'll share the documentation on the number 1 by the end of the week.
Best,
Xevi

Hello,
Sorry may be I was not clear:
What I am trying to do is:
1. Add a custom button/icon on the keyboard, for example next to the
space bar, I need custom image for the button and handling
2. Once the button is clicked I would like to make a small app (panel)
that runs in the keyboard (the mini app). The link you pointed to is about
already made mini app. Unless the source code for these app is available I
will need some docs how to create the UI of an app that runs inside the
keyboard. I cannot remember details but think these were called input views?

Hello V,
We should have a first version by the end of this month.
This would work like:
1. Choose the place where you want the button: next to the spacebar left,
right.
2. Have an image ready to be used by the custom button.
3. Override the delegate to take action when the user presses that button.
On another note, on the topbar, we have added the option of adding a view
on the right / left : https://docs.fleksy.com/sdk-ios/features/topbar-icon/
Thx!
