using command line Network importer and specify a new network group Genemania will put it into netowrk group other if group is not already defined.

According to the documentation:
--group network-type | Optional. The network group to which the new network will be added. If this group does not exist, it will be created. Defaults to other.

Only way around this issue is to go into the genemania cytocape app and load in one file or a fake file and create the new group. Then you can add more networks to that group from the command line using NetworkImporter.
