I am looking for a volunteer....I am a long time mainframe user, and I want to be able to use VS Code to work with source files (PL/I, C, HLASM (IBM mainframe assembler), Rexx, etc.) that are stored on z/VM (CMS to be precise). I want to be able to:
select a file on CMS and have that downloaded into VS Studio Code that file (and any macro files it might include)
edit it using all of the niffty VS Code tools
have the edited file saved back to z/VM, either to a CMS minidisk, the OpenEdition file system, or the SFS
I need a volunteer to write the extension (or whatever these things are called) as I don't have the time or skill set to do that myself. I'll crontibute all of the z/VM side of things needed.
There are very similar things that work together with IBM's other mainframe system, z/OS, so you can take a look at what it does to get a better idea.
