Given KECKO terms bellow, there might be an unclear usage of “biosample” and “sample” please correct me if am wrong
biosample processing defined as:
“A material processing which prepares a biosample for investigation”.
Does biosample here refer to a single specimen ?
biosample size defined as:
“A count of the number of biosamples collected for an investigation”.
The definition here is very similar to the term ‘sample size’ definition bellow? Could the term ‘biosample size’ be used for other purposes such as minimum sample size for specific assay ?
‘sample size’
“A count which represents the subset of a collection chosen for an investigation, survey, or assay”.

Here's my interpretation of these definitions... @mcourtot please weigh in if you have any other opinions.
Does biosample here refer to a single specimen ?
I think the definition could be updated to say "... prepares one or more biosamples..." to be a bit more inclusive.
The definition here is very similar to the term ‘sample size’ definition bellow?
The "biosample size" term was intended to be used for data relating to the number of samples collected, e.g. if you collect 5 samples over a study from each participant.
"sample size", on the other hand, was intended to be more statistical - for example, it is the parent of "population size". I can understand the confusion
Could the term ‘biosample size’ be used for other purposes such as minimum sample size for specific assay ?
I'm not sure "minimum sample size for a specific assay" is quite along the same lines, as that's a size for one sample, whereas this is a count of total samples.
