for user interface, voice search, and text entry. Localization is provided by Mozilla's amazing community of volunteer localizers.
Whenever a new string is added to a localizable strings file (strings.xml, localpages.xml, …) a string description must be provided as a comment above the new string. Also the project L10n wiki page must be updated with a key description, steps to reproduce and the expected results.
Verbose notes for localizers for community members of Mozilla's Localization (L10n) effort:
Stay tuned for more information for internalization (i18n).
Localization (often abbreviated to "L10n" in computing contexts) of Firefox Reality refers to the ongoing process of adapting Firefox Reality for a specific region or language by translating text and adding locale-specific components.
Firefox Reality L10n builds on the internationalization ("i18n") provided by the Android operating system. The most visible user-facing component of this is the language and script used in the user interface. All user-facing strings of text used in Firefox Reality are gathered into a strings XML file and the contents of this file are translated between supported languages using Mozilla's community-driven volunteer translation system.
Do you think support for your preferred language and script can be improved? We invite you to contribute. Contributions are managed through Mozilla's Pontoon system.
