Cost Efficiency Analysis Project: Installation and Setup Instructions

This project analyzes the cost efficiency of healthcare services provided by Almadina Clinic using Microsoft Excel 2019, including native libraries such as Power Pivot and Power Query. The project includes data cleaning, preprocessing, and generating insightful visualizations to support data-driven decision-making.

Installation

To run this project, you will need Microsoft Excel 2019 or a compatible version with Power Pivot and Power Query functionality. The project utilizes native Excel features and does not require any external software installation.

Setup Instructions

  1. Clone the Repository:

    • Clone or download this repository to your local machine.

  2. Open the Excel File:

    • Navigate to the project folder and open the Cost_Efficiency_Analysis.xlsx file using Microsoft Excel 2019.

  3. Enable Power Pivot and Power Query:

    • Ensure that Power Pivot and Power Query are enabled in Excel. If not enabled, follow these steps:
      • Go to the "File" menu, select "Options," and then click on "Add-Ins."
      • In the "Manage" drop-down menu at the bottom, select "COM Add-ins" and click "Go."
      • Check the boxes for "Microsoft Office Power Pivot" and "Microsoft Power Query for Excel" and click "OK."

  4. Refresh Data:

    • After enabling Power Query, you may need to refresh the data connection. To do this, navigate to the "Data" tab and click on "Refresh All."

  5. Explore the Visualizations:

    • The project includes various visualizations and charts that provide insights into the cost efficiency of healthcare services. Use the provided buttons to navigate between different sheets and dashboards.

  6. Interact with the Visualizations:

    • Use slicers or filters to interact with the visualizations dynamically. Adjust the slicer selections to view specific data subsets and observe the chart's response.

  7. View the Dashboard and Departmental Analysis:

    • Utilize the buttons provided on each sheet to access the Dashboard, Departmental Analysis, and HMO Analysis.

  8. HMO Claims Summary:

    • Visit the "HMO Claims" sheet to view a summary of billed, vetted, and remaining payments for both Public and Private HMOs.

  9. Save Your Work:

    • Save your changes and analysis results in the Excel file.
