The local proxy also allows local requests from the network to be answered and forwarded.

Example:
Uploading to immich takes a very long time even though the client and server are on the same LAN, but DNS rewrite doesn't work because there has to be a port behind the IP address. However, if the request is directed to the proxy, it should answer the local requests and forward them locally, so internal connections are faster and uploads are completed more quickly.
