I'm Matthew Caseres and I used to work as an actuary that wrote a lot of R. I've mostly been writing Python for the last year. I like to think about data formats and modeling. I think the Python ecosystem needs something a bit better than pyliferisk, so I'll be looking into this repo to freshen up on how actuarial calculations work and how to write a good API for them. So I'm here for inspiration. The MortalityTables.jl implementation really unstuck me on some problems I had with mortality tables. It was cool to see that you can literally ship all of the XML files in a package. |
