Description

I would like a more minimal version of minimal.
That perhaps just sets up CI, LICENSE, maybe docs

Motivation

Right now, even the minimal settings still add a lot of best practices.
Lots of stuff like PR templates, link-checking, CITATION etc.
I don't know that I disagree with them but I kind of want to be convinced of each of them in turn.
And some of them are not relevant to some projects, like an internal tool developed at a company does not need a CITATION file.

Target audience

A few audiences:

  • People who are old and crufty and don't like change. I am quiet used to what i get with PkgTemplates -- and even then I often turn off several of the defaults. So I would like something more similar to that
  • People who are new to the tools and trying to learn. (It is a lot to dump on to someone, half a dozen config files they do not know what to do. Awesome thing about this package over PkgTemplates is you can add more later)
  • People in environments where a lot of tooling just doesn't make sense, or is already provided by other infrastructure.
    • a special case of this is particularly relevent for the PR template, which described one workflow, but that might not be inline with your practices, which might actually be externally mandated.

Can you help?

no
