Seeking support with binding to group

Hi,
I've recently started to move from an ALL Hue house (40 devices) to Z2M about 2 months ago with the aim to move away from proprietary environement. Last weekend I've installed in my Kitchen some LED (model hg06104a) which I control via Home Assistant, unfotunatelly the HA control doesn't pass the wife test and she (and th erest of the family) be able to use a wall switch. I have a spare Hue remote (model 324131092621) that i want to use to control the LEDs, ideally I'd like to control ON/OFF with top and bottom button and if possible either dimming witht he central buttons or change colour. Now here is my issue, I've succesuflly added the remote to Z2M but i can't unbind it from the controler nor can I bind any of the button to do anything. I feel like I'm missing something for it to work (no sh*t!).
Here are the steps I've used:
Followed https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/guide/usage/groups.html and created the group in configuration.yml and added my 2 LEDs strips and the remote using their IEEE addresses.
I then try to unbind any of the clusters from the remote but that's where it fails to unbind.
I'd love some help, especially after a week trying to understand, read again tons of posts and docs.
