The plans for keeping the wiki up to date.

For Now

At this time, the goal is to get the information from the ODT "books" into a true reference with links and stuff. The spreadsheet wasn't originally part of this plan but ended up being one due to limitations of sorting markdown tables. Just from the sheer number of methods and enums, this won't be super quick.

Fortunately(?), newlife isn't updated super often so once it's "complete" (for 0.8.3 or 0.8.4), updating it even manually should be doable.

As it is, not every newlife update even has documentation updates.

My plan also is to, Splendid Ostrich permitting, to actually fill in parts where the documentation has a note indicating that someday more information should be there.

Ultimate Plan

I hope to write some tools to update the documentation for the Wiki in a semi-automatic fashion. At present, however, the various ODT to MD conversion tools leave a lot to be desired (most of the ENUM Wiki page is the raw output from it).

The two main methods I'm looking at are:

• Write a converter from the spreadsheet (ODS) to markdown myself.
• Move the main storage to a database with tools to export a ODS file and generate MD files. The problem with this method is as far as I know you can't have a database on github. (Although SQLite might work well enough).
