Live Enhancement Suite M1 Not Starting Up

Hi, sorry to bother.

I'm trying to get LES working on M1 mac, Monterey, v12.2. I believe I've followed all installation instructions from this video:

but all that comes up is this hammerspoon console. Not sure where to go from here. I'v enabled LES in accessibility settings. I run the app as administrator holding Control. Any other help would be greatly appreciated.

Do i Need to update to OS 13? And if I do, do you think I'll lose compatibility with any Plugins?

LES doesn't need elevated privileges. Could you paste the output of the console log in its entirety? What version are you using?

actually i realized i dont have the dependencies, so I tried installing them. when i try getting the dependencies for ruby I get an error saying

ERROR: While executing gem ... (Gem::FilePermissionError)
You don't have write permissions for the /Library/Ruby/Gems/2.6.0 directory.

there might be some redundancy in the code because i mightve put the command in multiple times, but I've attached it below.

What dependencies? LES doesn't have runtime dependencies (unless you count having Live as a depedency). The dependencies listed in the README are for development. Are you trying to build your own version?

Oh, no I'm not trying to build my own if I don't have to. Everytime I run LES all i get is the Hammerspoon console saying the following (If I reload config it just crashes):

I don't see any obvious problems, can you point to any specific problems you've faced when using LES on Live 11?

I just can't get it to launch, is there something specific I need to do? All i ever get is the console alone

Have you tried closing the console window and using LES within Live (the console window itself doesn't signify malfunction unless it's also accompanied by errors in the log)?

The program doesn't really come with a quick-start guide embedded and assumes you'll just get to using it immediately.. there isn't an OOBE so-to-speak.

Please consult the manual and attempt to use LES, if it's in the tray, it's still running. If you find deviations from expected behaviour in the manual, do let me know.

Okay so I got it to work for like an hour and then it broke again. I don't know whats going on. I had two of the LES icons in my menu bar, and I started configuring the double right click shortcut menu. It worked for a bit, then when I reloaded it most of the results were missing so i started messing with the formatting. After reloading again, the double right click broke entirely, wouldn't pop up at all. I restarted both LES and ableton, didn't change anything. I restarted my computer, and now LES icon won't even appear in the menu bar. If it helps at all, I have both an old and new version of LES on my computer, and the only time it worked was when I think I had both open at the same time, as weird as that sounds. When I startup my computer, do I have to restart homebrew or anything else? Do i Have to run any commands?

That looks like an old version of LES, newer betas don't have such an accessibility dialog. Earlier versions of LES had a problem because they re-used the unique identifier for Hammerspoon, that used to mess up permissions while newer versions use a distinct identifier. Please use the v1.3.4 betas as they are based on the most recent version of Hammerspoon.
