I received a request from a blog reader who wanted to calculate RMS EMG. I was going to point them to spike2py because I thought there is a function that the reader could use, but on checking the docs, it seems not. I ended up replying in brief how to write a function for RMS EMG.
Extent of EMG processing functions. I understand the point of spike2py is to import and apply basic signal processing, without becoming unwieldy with numerous processing functions. But RMS or mean EMG seems to be used often enough and users would write them anyway. Do you feel there is value in adding a function for the RMS? My apologies if it is there but I missed it.
Using functions in arrays. On a related note, can the EMG (and transducer) signal processing functions be applied to data in Numpy or Pandas arrays, or do the data have to be in a spike2py object? I thought the functions could be applied to data in other objects, but now I'm not so sure.

Hi @MartinHeroux ,

Thanks for considering!
