Focus Mode: Automatic switch between vertical and horizontal tabs on specific width #175
Comments
Thanks for the feature request. Just to confirm: you mean the tabs in DevTools, right? Just asking, because you didn't say in your comment, and this could be about the tabs in Edge instead. If this is about the tabs in Edge, the browser, then can you please re-submit your feedback using the browser Feedback tool:
If this is about DevTools, which this repository is about, then you might be interested in Focus Mode, our new UI experiment. It allows you to switch between horizontal and vertical tabs, and even has an auto-switch which depends on the docking location. Let me know if this helps. |
@captainbrosset Hi and thanks for your reply! That UI experiment looks like it is exactly what I'm looking for and I am going to try it. Anyways, auto switch on regular tabs is the same idea, sorry for being ambiguous here. |
Great, thanks for getting back to me and confirming. |
Hi,
I have an ultrawide screen and a regular screen. I love to use vertical tabs on the ultrawide screen, but horizontal tabs on the vertical screen (. However, it is inconvenient to switch between the two types of tabs every time I move my window from one screen to another.
It would be great if there was a setting that could automatically change the tabs from vertical to horizontal, or vice versa, depending on the width of the window.
Example of the screen setup I have.. on the left desktop I use standard tabs, on the right vertical one :)
