What happened?

The color and clarity (pixels) of image resources, videos, text and other content are seriously distorted. . .

System environment:

Windows10 x64 19044
Chrome is up to date
Version 120.0.6099.110 (Official Build) (64-bit)
WebView2
Version 120.0.2210.77

To reproduce the example:

  1. Open the same picture and the same video in Chrome and WebView2 respectively. However, it is surprising to find that the color and clarity (pixels) of image resources, videos, text and other content rendered by WebView2 are seriously distorted. . . The original image, video quality and colors look very distorted and terrible. . . Don't know what causes this?

Video 1 is rendered in the Chrome browser

Chrome视频颜色

Image 1 was rendered in the Chrome browser

Chrome视频颜色2

Video 2 is rendered in WebView2 Markdown

WebView2视频颜色

Image 2 was rendered in WebView2 Markdown

WebView2视频颜色2

You should be able to clearly see that the image quality, video quality and color rendered in WebView2 Markdown are very distorted. . . It is really difficult to understand that such color differences and color distortions will occur when using the same video, image, text and other content on the same computer. . .

Hopefully the WebView2 team will fix and improve it in the next version. Thank you so much!

Could you render the above in the Microsoft Edge Browser as well? It will help us diagnose if it's a WebView2 issue, or the Edge browser's issue
