Identified Issue

When running the sudo apt update command, several warnings were generated, indicating that certain targets in the source files are specified multiple times. The errors include duplications in the targets Packages (stable/binary-amd64/Packages, stable/binary-all/Packages) and Translations (stable/i18n/Translation-fr_FR, stable/i18n/Translation-fr, stable/i18n/Translation-en). This is due to the addition of APT repositories in the Docker installation.

Error Location

The duplicates have been detected in the files /etc/apt/sources.list at line 21 and in the file /etc/apt/sources.list.d/docker.list at line 1.

Recommended Actions

  1. Fix in /etc/apt/sources.list:

    • Use the following command to add a '#' to line 21 of /etc/apt/sources.list: 
      sudo sed -i '21s/^/#/' /etc/apt/sources.list
    • This will comment out line 21, resolving the duplication of targets.

  2. Fix in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/docker.list:

    • Use the following command to add a '#' to line 1 of /etc/apt/sources.list.d/docker.list: 
      sudo sed -i '1s/^/#/' /etc/apt/sources.list.d/docker.list
    • This will comment out the first line of the file, eliminating the duplication of targets.

  3. Update Sources:

    • After the fixes, run the following command to update the package list: 
      sudo apt update
    • This ensures that the changes are taken into account.

These actions should resolve the errors detected during the system update.

Please note that these commands directly modify system files. Ensure you have appropriate backups before executing them.
