However, I just tried it in an empty project and Composer was able to determine to use v2.0.5 by itself and installed the package correctly.

Can you check whether your Composer installation is up to date? (composer selfupdate)

Or, you could try specifying the version explicitely: composer require nicklasw/pkm-go-api:^2.0
