Can anyone share anything that works? I'm struggling - builds and runs fine, but "does nothing" (black screen)

I'm going through the Doc (https://github.com/ProjectPhysX/FluidX3D/blob/master/DOCUMENTATION.md) but I'm stuck on a black screen. The H and P keys do nothing (but ESC does exit).

I see the below when it exits... can someone give me some clues or sample files or whatever is needed to get me started please?

Which setup are you testing?
The console output you show is up to the point where the simulation is initializing (RAM+VRAM are allocated, initial conditions are set during which CPU goes 100% load, initial conditions are copied to VRAM, DDFs in VRAM are initialized). Depending on how large the simulation box is, initialization might take a minute, and during initialization the graphics window remains black as there is nothing to render yet. Does it still not start after a few minutes?
Initialization is significantly quicker with v2.12, please update to latest version.

I'm trying to work through the doc - I've tried a pile of different things, including leaving it for more than 12 hours (same black screen). Do you perhaps have a working executable or a "zip" of the source tree from something that compiled and worked, that you could share?

There's a tiny chance my hardware might be a cause (it's a laptop, with dual monitors - so somewhat unusual) - I'm trying to rule out where the issue might be initially.

Check the benchmark executables from latest release. The benchmarks run 10000 time steps and finally print out peak MLUPs/s. If those don't work, it's a problem with your driver installation, then reinstall the latest GPU driver.

Those run OK, but they just print numbers in text (ending with "Info: Peak MLUPs/s = 5690" then wait for a keypress and exit.

No graphics are shown, no files are created, no useful output seems to happen.

Are they supposed to display something?

Couly you maybe share the executable that you ran which made the youtube output shown on your benchmark page? (All those .exes simply "do nothing" on my NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti )

alternatively, could you maybe add instructions into the project for how to build the benchmarks?
(the "FluidX3D.exe" I built at least creates a black screen - those benchmark .exe programs don't even get that far)

The benchmark executable runs correctly. So it's not a problem with the GPU drivers.
To compile the FP32 benchmark executable yourself, compile the code from the repository as-is without any changes. This is a good test for whether your Visual Studio installation is correct.

If this works, as a first simple setup with graphics, try 3D Taylor-Green vortices:

• uncomment this setup by removing the /* here
• comment out //#define BENCHMARK by inserting // here
• uncomment #define INTERACTIVE_GRAPHICS by removing // here
• compile and run by clicking the ► Local Windows Debugger button
• a graphics window should open and you shoud see some colored streamlines
• press key P to start simulation, press H to show keyboard controls

I reinstalled my Visual Studio and all required dependencies (after waiting a few months) and now it all runs just fine!
