Understand what is Azure OpenAI service and work through the Introduction to Azure OpenAI Service training module.
To replicate the demo included in the workshop on your own Azure subscription you'll need to:
- Create an Azure Subscription. If you are a student claim your Azure for Students benefit (no credit card required), otherwise sign up for an Azure free trial.
- Review the limited access policy to Azure OpenAI service.
- Apply for access to the Azure OpenAI Service. Note that if your application doesn't match the acceptance criteria, you can rely on the OpenAI public APIs to build your prototype.
In this workshop, attendees will learn about how AI has been infused across the whole Microsoft Cloud tech stack and which technological innovations enabled the recent AI revolution. They'll be introduced to the theory about how a large language model works and they'll learn more about Azure AI offering and how to choose the cognitive service that best suits their solution requirements.
In this segment, we'll start by introducing what are the main innovations that are revolutionizing the AI landscape and their impact on societies.
Bonus: Audience Interactivity
The current AI trends are coming with a lot of acronyms. A great way to get your audience involved and active in your talk right away is to include a short quiz where they submit answers for acronyms.
Acronyms we use include: AI, NLP, LLM, GPT
(you can find all speaker notes, descriptions + answers to acronym questions and delivery in the Powerpoint and the Video)
We recommend creating your poll using Microsoft Forms Poll feature. Take a look at the places you could integrate the Forms Poll into your work no matter what platform you are presenting on - 4 Ways to use polls to make your meeting more engaging
Next, we'll be introducing the theory behind natural language processing and we'll explain how the transformer architecture enabled a faster progression towards generative AI.
Let's deep dive into what is Azure OpenAI service, what's the difference between Azure OpenAI Service and OpenAI and how this service is placed in the Azure AI platform.
Work through the Introduction to Azure OpenAI Service training module to learn more.
Moving from theory to practice, let's see an example of an application which combines the capabilities of different Azure services into a single architecture, enabling the users with a ChatGPT like experience based on private data.
