The story was re-written to be more concrete but it doesn't necessarily capture what the author meant (if you are the author, please elaborate in a comment).
Something that might be important in the original phrasing is "I can contact" - so the mentee directly contacts - do we want to allow such an unsolicited contact to mentors?

3. Do we want to allow an unsolicited contact to mentors (see above)? Or do we instrument this rather as a preference from the mentee so that mentor can engage if they want to e.g. options are to boost the ranking of such a mentee (unobtrusive for the mentor but can lead to an unheard call for help, can be potentially abused) or are we more active with a notification of some kind e.g. email/in-platform notifications that someone might be looking for their help (more obtrusive, can again be abused with worse consequences)
