Does nothing?

I set up the server using Docker, installed the app on my phone and entered the IP of the computer the server is running on, along with the API token the server gave me.

I can select an image in the app and hit upload, which does nothing. I can manually enter the store name, receipt total, date and a category and hit submit, but no data from the receipt is ever extracted.

What's this app supposed to do? I thought it would parse the image but it doesn't do anything with the image at all. Is it even possible for the app/server to extract the prices of individual products or does it only look for a total?

I'm really sorry if this is all explained somewhere and I was just too blind to find it, but this really confuses me.
