Apologies if this ends up just being a compatibility thread. Mostly wondering if there's something simple I may be forgetting

Only GPU fans being detected using FanControl

All fans are detected when using LibreHardwareMonitor

  • Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 (REV 1.3) - Version F12
  • Intel Core i7 2600K
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080
  • Thermaltake S200 TG Case w/3 x 120mm ARGB PWM Fans ( PWR FAN / SYS FAN 1 / SYS FAN 2 )
  • Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus w/120mm Fan ( CPU FAN HEADER )
  • BIOS Smart Fan settings OFF and in MANUAL ... have attempted changing to PWM Mode as well as other settings

Yes, an old motherboard/pc that I recently put into a new case with included fans ... old case had a manual fan speed control switch ... without it the fans all run at 100% ... I wasnt even sure if FanControl would work for a MB as old as mine and maybe that's still the case

Any help is appreciated.

If detected by LHM, FanControl also has them if you got the "motherboard" checkbox checked in the sensor source.

After a little digging I found them under the hidden "Fan Speed Cards"

So the only fan showing up under "Controls" is my GPU ... would that mean the other fans only have RPM sensors and cannot be controlled?

... is this a motherboard compatibility issue or fan issue?

Again, this is a 15yo MB and brand new Case/Fans

Thanks again for the quick reply
