Issue with Auto-Login in Moodle Using Safe Exam Browser

I'm encountering a specific issue with Moodle LMS in conjunction with the Safe Exam Browser (SEB) and seeking advice or solutions from the community.

Context:

• We are using SEB for exams in our lab environment.
• Students are instructed to log out of Moodle after their exam.
• However, the browser (SEB) seems to remember the previous student's credentials and auto-logs in the next user.

Problem:

• This poses a privacy concern as the next student gets logged in automatically under the previous student's account.
• SEB is configured to require a password to exit, so students cannot simply close and reopen the browser.

What we're looking for:

• Suggestions to prevent Moodle from auto-logging in users in SEB.
• Any settings in Moodle or SEB that can be adjusted to clear session data or cookies upon logout.
• Has anyone else faced this issue? How did you resolve it?

📢 Update on the Auto-Login Issue with Moodle and SEB

Hello again,

I found this solution that I think solves my problem:

After some investigation, I found a feature in SEB that allows for a controlled shutdown or restart after an exam. Under the "Exam" tab in SEB settings, I used the "Link to quit SEB after exam" feature. This lets us configure SEB to quit or restart without requiring a quit password by specifying a quit link.

How it Works:

• I set the quit link to https://OUR-LMS-URL/login/logout.php. This URL is directed to the Moodle logout script.
• After students finish their exams and log out, SEB detects this quit link and restarts, which clears all session information.

SEB now restarts automatically after a student logs out, preventing any subsequent auto-login issues on shared computers.
