Issue with imagick and jemalloc

When compiling the PHP extension imagick after installing imagemagick with imei, I get the following error:

/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libjemalloc.so.2: cannot allocate memory in static TLS block

Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I'm using the docker images for PHP which are based on Debian 10.

Sorry, I should have waited till the morning before posting, let me rephrase.

I'm using the docker imagephp:8.0-fpm as a base (which is based on Debian 10), with version 6.0.2 of imei, imei.sh runs fine. After imagemagick and its dependencies have been built correctly, I'm cloning the imagick repo and compiling it following the instructions. The compilation runs fine as well.

It's only when I enable the extension that PHP can't load it, and one of the errors it throws is the jemalloc error posted above. I've found this issue but honestly I'm really out of my depth there. I'm posting the whole error for reference in case I missed anything:
