Doesn't sound like a valid xlsx file. If you are sure it is, you'll have to report it to PhpSpreadsheet.

You need to do:

From:
Excel::toCollection('', $file->path)[0];

To:
Excel::toCollection('', $file->path, 'public')[0];

For me works fine after update to Excel 3.1

Nobody has the answer for this problem, this is an incompatibility of maatwebsite/excel with ubuntu, because in windows it can be imported correctly, but when I clone the project in any version of ubuntu we will always have this error.
My solution was to upload my project to the azure cloud.
