Coming linearly navigates the history according to the commit dates. Thus, the output is a list of results coming from analyzing each commit.
However, the history could be structured as a graph: some commits are done over a particular branch and the they are merged into another branch (e.g., master).
We would provide the possibility to organize the output according to that structure.
