Enhancements to author processing/display

Originally from #2060 (comment), but opened as a new discussion here to reduce noise on #2060:

Separate issue entirely but this data also means we could, if desired, add contributions to author pages.

Like "Sherlouk" owns these 5 repos, and is an author of these 20 repos. Could be good to see active community members.

Suppose there's also the idea of top open source contributors leaderboard across all tracked packages 👀

@daveverwer just spitting ideas - any of them sound interesting to you?

The biggest issue here is relating contributions via git history with GitHub usernames, which are currently what gets used to identify package authors. Commit owner details are great, but I'm not sure how we'd automate the mapping between them and package owners in any kind of reliable way.

A bigger issue is that we're potentially about to enter a period of significant flux when it comes to package identity and ownership with package registries. That may make it even harder to keep any mechanism we come up with now working as that unfolds.

I think I'm happier not tackling the problem right now. 😬
