Hi @waxlamp, just wanted to wave hello as the Crystal Toolkit developer -- we're building a suite of React components for materials science use, intended to be used within the Plotly Dash framework, but some components can be used as standalone React components also.

For the crystal structure viewer specifically, this exists so that we can take advantage of pymatgen algorithms for determining bonding etc. within a web app, so Python is used to go from a crystal structure to a json scene representation, and then the React component renders this json.

I'm not sure if this would be useful for your project or not but happy to answer questions!
