Keep the logs/config when migrating to a docker instance

Hi there,

Everything is in th title!

After using Technitium for a couple of years in my lab, I'd like to switch a dedicated VM to a docker instance but I'd like to keep all my stats/logs and maybe even config if possible.

Can you help me by indicating me what files and/or config I have to move? I'll use docker compose with named volumes & macvlan (my test instance compose file is below)
Other question: is it a good idea? Meaning precisely: is the docker image something you will maintain over time?

Thanks for asking. You can migrate easily using the Backup/Restore options that you will find at the bottom right in the Settings section. You can select all the items you want to backup from your existing DNS server and then restore it in your new docker deployment. The docker image will be maintained for each future release.

As usual, perfect. I didn't even think about the backup/restore functionality! 😊

With one detail: the log location is different when you use defaults in docker, so had to first import everything except logs, change the log folder setting and then import the logs only.

If this procedure can serve to anyone...

Migration time : 10 minutes with certificate import! 😉👌
