This version of the modification follows 0.96.6 release, and does not include Caucasus or South America map updates that followed. TGC Compact is for those players with lower end PCs, or those that simply dislike new (and planned) map expansions and a different focus of the mod.

Changelog since version A:

  • Colonizer and the colonized religions: Experimental - This will allow traditionally colonizer religions in the timeframe to allow conversion of others in the same way e.g. Animist cultures in Africa convert. By default it will rarely happen, however with using the Government Missionary sponsored campaigns it will occur more
  • Related to above, added new government campaign to boost conversion
  • Due to number of new states in TGC compared to vanilla, taking states, colonies and puppets have received 20-30% cut in infamy cost per CB (eg. Acquire State 5 => 3.5)
  • Enforcing Gendarme of Europe CB on target (forcing absolutist monarchy as Russia or Austria at someone) now has a chance, if that country has less than 3mil population to completely submit to the victor, and become a puppet.
  • Prussia will now no longer pick to side with Russia in Crimean War if Russia owns Konigsberg
  • Prussia will now have an option to side against Russia in Crimean War if Austria is neutral. If AI, if Russia owns Prussian cores, Prussia will ally Ottomans (Coalition side)
  • War Torn modifier upon occupation of a province now gives more population damage
  • Fixed a crash in Second Shiraz Legation, Persia event chain with Russia
  • Cotton price reverted to $2 (testing)
  • Reverted old nationalist province event MTTH, the changes made them happen frequently
  • Removed pop militancy if country has settlement policy, and added infamy instead. This also had the side effect of non accepted state population having an easy -0.03 on militancy.

  • Pacific Islands will now properly start as colonial, therefore fixing the Guano Islands Act bug among other things that would make new provinces states, not colonies

  • Russia can now annex Iraq protectorate, same as Syria

  • During the Turkish Revolt in the end of the Russia chain in Middle East, Azeris will join Turks in revolting
  • Added province modifiers that will make the Turkish Revolt last longer
  • Turkey will now properly shed debuffs from puppet era
  • Greece will now properly core Smyrna state after Ionian Revolt
  • Russia now gets Fate of Anatolia event after annexing rump Turkish Revolt with 4 options: incorporate into Empire as Anatoliyskiy Krai, add Greeks as accepted culture; Give Anatolia to Greece; Give Anatolia and Bosphorus to Greece; release rump Turkish puppet. If Greece is AI, it will become a puppet state in 2nd and 3rd option.
  • If Russia annexes the region, it will have an event option to expel Ottoman Elite to Central Asia
  • Ankara should no longer get to wild 50% soldiers, deported soldiers from the Balkans after liberations will first demote to farmers
  • Rubber temporarily nerfed until a solution is found for 1880s crash (mostly coming from plantation events, to be tested)
  • Western Bulgaria Vilayet will now properly be called as such after Crimean War victory
  • New chosen capital foru Russia will now have precious goods
  • Great Game CB will no longer become unavailable for player if it reaches close to the infamy threshold
  • Vassals that are Dominions will have a far lesser chance to revolt
  • Vassals that share the same culture group as overlord will have a lesser chance to revolt
  • Boosted mine size for Constantinople after restoring the Ecumenical Patriarchy
  • Historical governorate names for Yekaterinoslav and Kuban states
  • Nerfed pop growth duration caused by Alexander's Reform to last from 8 to now 5 years

  • Russia will now be able to keep using Gendarme of Europe CB if they're still reactionary and absolutist after Nicholas dies, and Alexander reforms were not enacted
  • Nerfed Renovate the Capital decision from baby boom from 5 to 3 years
  • Fixed a few effects in new Russian events
  • Added about 30 impassable borders for micro provinces in Saxony/Thuringia to alleviate some of the gore having to fight a land front there
  • Spanish is now accepted culture in all SA viceroyalties
  • Hungary will now resemble the colour of Austria and start as a dominion gov type and accept South German culture if released in 1848 events
  • Latin Union formation by AI will now require Germany to own directly or through a vassal Lombardy or Venice
  • Fixed an issue where puppets of Germany would get inherited by LTU upon formation by AI
  • Removed removal of small state cores when German Confederation is formed
  • Introduced decisions to dismantle Latin Union and German Confederation. Now if you're at war with one of these countries, have the required technology and have decimated them in a war, you can dismantle them into several smaller states
  • Fixed an issue of France retaining LTU cores after being dismantled
  • Dismantled Latin Union tags should no longer become republics
  • Dismantling LTU will now force France to also release Occitania and Bretagne
  • Increased Russian aversion of colonial migration to Africa
  • Capitalists will now require a basic luxury good of oil and rubber to be a stop-gap in the period between the two RGOs being discovered and industry starting to fully exploiting them
  • Accepting cultures as Russia (western Slavs specifically) is now way stricter
  • Some fixes and adjustments ported from master to compact

TGC: Compact Version A (v0.96 Map)

This version of the modification follows 0.96.6 release, and does not include Caucasus or South America map updates that followed. TGC Compact is for those players with lower end PCs, or those that simply dislike new (and planned) map expansions and a different focus of the mod.
As the main mod now strives for a bigger map, more provinces and details on it, TGC Compact will remain on the 0.96 Map. It will not produce content of its own nor follow updates from the main mod. It will finish British America rework and Baseline Prestige Mechanics that were begun before the community voted to focus on map development. When necessary, and if major bugs appear, we will strive to fix them when that is possible.

Changelog:

  • British America content should now be playable. Report bugs if encountered. Dominions possible: British Dominion of New England, British Dominion of Virginia, British Dominion of Georgia, British Dominion of Louisiana, Expanded Dominion of Canada
  • Rebellion and revolt mechanics in British America
  • A potential of a second American War of Independence
  • Introducing Experimental Baseline Prestige Mechanic. Now, independent civilized countries with a population of at least 250,000 will have a baseline prestige of 1000. This will fix vassals suddenly going free if they get to top 8 rankings. However, it still allows them to slowly accumulate prestige and maybe one day break it by making the rankings. This feature is experimental, please report any major bugs you encounter.
  • Prestige gain and loss from war significantly reduced to account for the new Baseline mechanic
  • Enforcing humiliate CB will now approximately reduce prestige of the defeated party by 10% (instead of about 30%)
  • Some casus bellis prestige effects have been lowered
  • Prestige loss from not enforcing added war goals significantly reduced
  • Prestige gain via technology reduced back to 5% per technology level
  • Introduced Concert of Europe Great Power Status
  • Traditional 5 GPs: Britain, France, Russia, Austria, Prussia have had their starting prestige significantly increased to represent the historical 5 Great Powers (unlike the games 8 slots)
  • The optional Minor Greater Power Mechanic now includes ranks 6 (aside from 7 and 8) until 1860, the italian unification
  • Adjusted submods that change defines (for example Less RNG submod) to correspond to new prestige changes
  • Added a mechanic where a civilized vassal nation with at least 3 million (12m total) population and 400 industrial score (or 6m pops, 24m total) can start an independence war against their overlord. This will prevent countries being permanently turned to a vassal status and will bring overlord countries more challenge to retain their dominancy.
  • Added Perfo's American CBs for France and Britain
  • Dismantlement CBs will now take 100 score (exp)
  • Fixed a major Russia bug in Donbass
  • Fixed a major bug of African natives assimilating to colonizer primary culture

New bugfix release with some additions:

  • Introduced Less Combat RNG Submod which makes random rolls in battles much less important in battle ticks
  • Introduced a HoI3-like graphic submod, made by -mxwel
  • The Great Game Expansion: If either Convention over Afghanistan or Persia fails, the escalation to war now has a special Casus Belli for both sides that will decide the faith of Central Asia and its future. Loser of the war will lose all influence in Persia and Afghanistan (and cores of these countries) and losing some relations and influence in other Central Asian countries. Further, this will make the defeated party lose access to the Great Game puppet casus belli and its following events. Victor of the Great Game Confrontation will gain influence in all contested countries, and their Great Game CB will now be possible against all regions that historically the other side held. For example, if Russia wins the confrontation, they will kick out the British from Persia and Afghanistan, and will be able to start wars to puppet Persia, Afghanistan, Baluchistan, and so forth. Same applies in the other direction. If confrontation happens over either Afghanistan or Persia, a second confrontation will not trigger anymore (no more annoying fight two disarmament wars over both Afghanistan and Persia..)
  • Elections events can now be muted
  • Fixed a major CTD source from DD based bugs
  • Tons of loc improved and adjusted
  • Tons of optimization making the mod faster and use less ram
  • Serbia and Montenegro have been given a new colour
  • The colours for British event released dominions (Canada, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, New England, Virginia, Georgia, Louisiana) are now shades of red

  • Russia will now be able to take Seize Oregon Coast if the British/Americans beat them to it in Oregon Rush, if they manually take the states in question. This is so the entire Russian America chain isn't blocked is Vancouver is no longer an empty province.
  • South Africa: North and South Africa have been separated as continents, and Southwest Africa (Namibia) has been deleted and added to the South Africa continent. South Africa is now in terms of migration mechanics considered New World, and formable nations in this region will have new world country flag (South Africa, Volksstrat, Southern Rhodesia) which makes them eligible to receive emigration just as the Americas and Oceania
  • Anti-micro stating of overseas colonies has been rebalanced
  • Fixed the bug of Russians not migrating to colonial Asian provinces
  • Hawaii annex dont always give USA cores, and the loc is better
  • Improved loc and picture for The Faith of Armenia event
  • "FROMCOUNTRY$ Abandoned Us" and "FROMCOUNTRY$ Support Us" are now Is_triggered_only and will not trigger for athos anymore
  • Costs rebalanced for Government Campaigns: 10% (most), 15%, 20% (birthrate campaigns) of monthly maximum tax for the country, scaled by budget size, it will no longer be scaled by country size (number of provinces)
  • Direct Migration cost rebalanced, the costs are now based on amount of Province and Immigrator Selectors built, rather than the previously static cost per country
  • Carlist Spain Democratize Viceroyalties decision should no longer be repeatable
  • Russian will now stay accepted in Russian America dominion
  • Greater Austrian Destiny event is now triggered by a decision

Spanish Content

  • Added Pan-Hispanism decision for Spain, which can be enacted if Spain holds or is sphere leader of Latin America
  • If Pan-Hispanism is adopted, Latin American and Iberian countries can join the Latin Monetary Union. Available to any iteration of Spain.
  • If Pan-Hispanism is adopted, Latin Customs Union can be created by Spain and joined by any Iberian or Latam country in Spanish sphere. Available to any iteration of Spain.
  • Added a path for Carlist Spain to have New Spain reclaim Northwestern America (Oregon, Columbia, Alaska).
  • Fixed Spanish Louisiana and Spanish Florida decisions. They work on the same principle, it gives cores to Viceroyalty of New Spain

Latin Union and France content

  • Historical Latin Monetary Union decision restored and revamped
  • Added Embrace Pan-Latinism decision for Napoleonic France, based on historical adoption by Napoleon III in regards to other Latin and Latam countries
  • Latin Customs Union, possible with Pan Latinism and Latin Monetary Union if France spheres Iberia and Italy. Similar to Zollverein
  • Iberian, Italian, Latam, or any French Dominion countries will be able to join both if Pan Latinism is adopted. If not, historical countries will join the Monetary Union.
  • Second French Empire can proclaim Latin Union, if it either owns, or has puppeted Italy (Plombieres or Manually) and sphered Iberia, and has formed the Latin Customs Union.
  • A coalition of Great Powers will form and attempt to contain and dismantle the Union. Britain, Russia, Austria and Prussia will join forces against the new country.
  • If the Union is dismantled, Napoleon will fall and pre-war status quo will be restored
