EarthEngineLayers don't render in Jupyter notebook

Hello! Thanks for working on this module - seems like a very useful tool to have access to.

I have been trying to render simple 3D maps following the example code on pyDeck integration on the website. While r.show produces no output (a known issue it appears), r.to_html renders the basemap properly but without the ee layers.

Is there any troubleshooting advice to get around this issue? Perhaps related to this issue as well?
