To compile:
go to the directory of the program.
open a terminal in that directrory.
execute: "make all" from terminal.
This program generates a k-d tree associated with a given set of points and searches the tree for the nearest neighbors of a set of query points.
The user must specify the dimensionality of the points,
their number, the number of query points, the number of times
the k-d tree must be generated (optional, used for performance mesurments) and the Minkowski metric used in the header file "basic_def.h".
The points to be inserted in the tree must be stored in a file following the format:
point1_val1 point1_val2 ... point1_valK
point2_val1 point2_val2 ... point2_valK
.
.
.
pointN_val1 pointN_val2 ... pointN_valK
The query points must be strored in another file and must follow the same format specified above.
The tipical call of the program is:
k_d_solver input_points query_points > output
The program has 3 options (which must be specified before the filenames):
-e which specifies the use of the heurisric method
-m which specifies the absence of the ball within bounds test
-t which specifies the use of all the algorithms
So 4 additional calls can be used:
k_d_solver -m input_points query_points > output
k_d_solver -e -m input_points query_points > output
k_d_solver -e input_points query_points > output
k_d_solver -t input_points query_points > output
Example of use:
./k_d_solver -t DATASET_TESTtxt QUERY_TEST.txt
