Typical file read use cases will use read-via-stream to obtain an input-stream to read the file contents.

Basic examples will help. For testing. To see if something breaks or can be broken.

We can do this in the browser with WICG File Systen Access API standalone on Chromium based browsers using showSaveFilePicker(), FileSystemWritableFileStream, and where required FileSystemObserver; with WHATWG File System using navigator.storage.getDirectory(), where the files and directories are ultimately written to the browser configuration folder which can be accessed outside of the browser; and with Native Messaging standalone on Chromium, Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Edge, with a 1.2 MB QuickJS executable, qjs --std readFile.js mp3.js, or using C, C++, whatever programming language you want, where the same script can be used within and without the browser, e.g., for portability
