[Bug]: Hoyoplay launcher blank screen

Description

Since Hoyoverse created a new launcher for the game and force all user to use it at June 17, the old launcher can no longer be used, and the new launcher shows a blank screen

Steps to reproduce

• Install hoyoplay launcher (https://hoyoplay.hoyoverse.com/)
• Open Hoyoplay launcher

Expected behaviour

Should not blank and can see list of the games

Using GPTK directly, the log shows what is happening

Given the black screen, I think the metal error causes the problem.

No...
But if you really want to play such as ZZZ, Open HoYoPlay on windows, install games, and copy generated data to mac.
Then launch .exe file from whiskey, it works well.

This way don't support update because of no launcher, so need to do it again when update patch is released.

I am now waiting for ZZZ to be added to yet-another-gamelauncher.

There's a fix you if you all are using bottles go to dependencies then search for web-view 2 its ms edge software which is a critical dependency which mihoyo needs for its apps.

I think it is related to installing webview-2.

You need to put the bottle in Windows & compatibility to install:

I was able to launch Genshin by looking at pictures on the internet which show the placement of the UI elements in the launcher. And clicking at the right places of this blank screen.

For people like me who would prefer to use Hoyoverse's own launcher, Wineskin currently works without any hard issues if you use the 23.7.1-3_rc1 engine.

I simply moved my Hoyoplay and "Genshin Impact game" files from my Whisky bottle to an equivalent C drive directory under my Wineskin wrapper. Just make sure to run vc2022 winetrick before running the game.

If your computer sleeps while the Hoyoplay launcher is updating a game, the window may appear frozen. Just right-click the menu bar icon to reveal the drop-down menu and the window should resume functioning. If that doesn't work, click "Open Main Window", grab the window via the macOS window bar, then shake the window around your desktop.

@tcapelle the first screenshot didn't get attached, but HoYoPlay should be working with that Engine no problem as also confirmed by other users as was the main reason for that Engine revision been published early.

@tcapelle you’d setup the app as you’ve shown then simply exit Wineskin, next you’d double click “MyCoolWrapper” as that’s the name you’ve giving it and it’ll directly run launcher.exe

I got HoYoPlay to launch after performing the following steps:

• Create a bottle, I just left it on the defaults (so Windows 10 64-bit)
• Install HoYoPlay, and close it when it launches (right-click the icon in the menu bar -> "Exit Program")
• Go to installed programs -> launcher.exe and click on the cog icon on the right
  • Add --in-process-gpu to the arguments (credits to the user that made this Reddit comment for figuring this out)
• Run launcher.exe
  

The game also runs just fine:
