Release 0.9.8
The Windows packages will install the addon and companion app for the user installing the package. Other users can install the addon using the xpi package from the install directory or run the installer themselves.
Windows 10 / 11 64-bit
Windows 10 / 11 32-bit
If you used the Windows 0.9.3 installer in "Single User" mode, you need to manually remove the app before installing the new version. The uninstaller does not work, sorry about that.
Please remove the SysTray-X directory from C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Programs. Remove also manually the addon in Thunderbird using the "Add-ons and Themes, extensions" dialog.
Use the regeditor (run: regedit.exe) and be very carefull what you are doing. Find and delete ONLY this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mozilla\NativeMessagingHosts\SysTray_X
The Bash installer packages listed below are user installable packages for the SysTray-X addon and companion app. No root credentials required.
The RPM and DEB packages need of course root credentials. Please consider adding the repository for automatic updates, see the README.md.
Be aware that there are three separate packages for KDE, GNOME and others:
KDE: systray-x-.rpm or systray-x-.deb
GNOME: systray-x-gnome-.rpm or systray-x-gnome-.deb
Unity, XFCE, etc: systray-x-minimal-.rpm or systray-x-minimal-.deb
Please be also aware that the SysTray-X packages are build based upon the state of the distribution at that moment. There is always a risk the distribution updates the required libraries and make the SysTray-X package unusable. Please consider using a repository for your specific distribution to prevent incompatible updates.
The KDE version has no GNOME dependencies and will not work under GNOME directly but you could enable the needed appindicator gnome extension manually. So if you use GNOME (or both desktops) please install the GNOME version for automatic configuration.
The minimal version only installs the add-on and companion app, and has no special desktop dependencies or setups, use it for non-KDE, non-GNOME desktops.
