I am going to give this a try later .. looking at the code it seems like this would not be configured to handle multiline messages in my application logs, such as Python Traceback messages? I have had slightly better luck with a different fluentd image that includes the Google DetectExceptions plugin. Do you think it would just be a matter of changing the image name in the daemonset and adjusting the configmap? Or maybe I am missing something and this version does handle them?
I have had poor luck using the fluentd image you included here (when it comes to handling multiline messages). But this looks like a promising configuration so maybe I will have better luck tweaking the configmap.

After getting this running, I confirmed that fluentd does not handle multiline messages in the app logs. I will play around with the ideas I expressed above to see if I can configure this, but if you have any ideas it would be good to know. This seems like the common scenario everyone needs.
