Email Notifications Version 0.21.2

Added the following to the compose.yaml file to receive notifications. Testing shows the "email sent" message, but no email ever arrives.
Here's the environment section of the compose file:

The password contains special characters "%" and "&". Even if these are escaped with a $ prefix, emails never arrive. The recipient is also added to the Mail section of "Notifications".

I'm also struggling with Telegram, but I'll save that for a separate thread.

What do the logs say, when you run the test email?

What I would try is to move the secrets to the speedtest.env file, remove them from environment key in compose and add env_file: speedtest.env instead.

I read "special characters" (plural), in the documentation, so took that to mean not just $ needs escaping. The password has "&" and "%" characters. I tried both escaping and not: there didn't appear to be any difference in that no emails were received. Below, the MAIL_PASSWORD value appears as the correct password so I assume escaping isn't required and that's how the password has been specified.

Hmm, in that case, I do not know how to proceed. Maybe the new linuxserver container does not log anything from speedtest-tracker?

Try entering the container and running cat /config/log/php/error.log, maybe there's some info there. And if it is, you can create a feature request in image repository so they pass the logs through to the docker container.

From what I see cat /config/log/laravel.log would be the other place to look.

Since you're using gmail, keep in mind that you cannot use your regular google account password for such things, you need to create application password

As soon as that was changed, all the previous issues disappeared. I am very grateful to you for staying with me on this.
